WV State Basketball Tournament 2024: Brackets and Predictions
Well, let me tell ya ’bout this basketball thingy, the WV state basketball tournament in 2024. It’s a big deal, y’know? Lots of hoopin’ and hollerin’. They call it the WVSSAC 2024 Boys Basketball State Tournament, sounds fancy, huh?
Thirty-two teams, that’s what they said. Thirty-two! That’s a whole lotta boys runnin’ around. And they play for five days straight. Can you imagine? Runnin’ and jumpin’ for five whole days. My old knees would give out just watchin’ them.
Now, they got these games set up with higher seeds playin’ at home. Makes sense, I guess. Gives them a bit of an advantage. Spring Mills was playin’, and they was a Class-AAAA team. Their game was at 7:15 PM on Tuesday, March 12th. Then they had another game at 1:00 PM on Friday. Busy boys, they are.
- Game 1: Nitro versus Sissonville at 9:30 in the mornin’. That’s early!
- Game 2: Jefferson playin’ South Charleston at 11:15 AM. Still mornin’!
- Game 3: Shady Spring and North Marion goin’ at it. Don’t know when, but they played.
They got all sorts of scores and times on some website. I wouldn’t know how to find it, mind you. Too much clickin’ and typin’ for this old gal. But them young folks, they know how to get all that information. They say you can find the schedules and results and all that jazz online. They even got somethin’ called “StatBroadcast Live Tournament Central.” Sounds complicated.
This whole tournament thing is a big deal for these boys. They practice and practice, runnin’ up and down that court, dribblin’ that ball. It’s hard work, I tell ya. And the crowds get all riled up, cheerin’ and yellin’. It’s excitin’, I guess, even if I don’t understand all the rules.
They got different classes too, like Class AAA and Class AAAA. I don’t rightly know what it all means, but it sounds important. They got quarterfinal games and I guess they keep playin’ until there’s just one team left. That’s the championship team, the best of the best.
Morgantown, West Virginia, that’s where it all happened. That’s what they said on the radio. Thirty-two teams comin’ from all over the state, just to play basketball. Must be somethin’ special about that game.
I heard them talkin’ about it down at the store. Said some of them boys are real good. Tall and fast, they are. And they can shoot that ball like nobody’s business. I wouldn’t want to get in their way, that’s for sure.
So, this WV State Basketball Tournament 2024, it’s a big thing. Lots of games, lots of teams, and lots of excitement. It’s a good way for them boys to show off their skills and maybe even get a scholarship to college. That’s what my grandson told me, anyway. He knows all about this stuff.
And if you want to know more, well, you gotta go find that website. They got it all there, the schedules, the results, and everything else you need to know. Just don’t ask me to find it for ya. I’m stickin’ to watchin’ my soap operas and knittin’ my scarves. That’s more my speed.
But I’m happy for them boys, I am. They work hard, and they deserve to have their fun. And who knows, maybe one of them will go on to be a big star someday. That would be somethin’, wouldn’t it? A boy from West Virginia, playin’ basketball on TV. Makes you proud, it does.
West Virginia Boys Basketball State Championships, that’s what they call it. And it’s a big deal, even for an old lady like me who doesn’t know a slam dunk from a free throw. But I can appreciate the hard work and the excitement. And that’s good enough for me.
So that’s the story of the basketball tournament, as best as I can tell it. Lots of games, lots of boys, and lots of hoopin’. And at the end of the day, one team gets to be the champion. And that’s something to celebrate, I reckon.
2024 was a big year for them young fellas playin’ ball. Seems like every year it gets bigger and bigger. They train so hard, bless their hearts, running and jumping. I tell ya, It wears me out just thinkin’ about it.
Remember, it’s all about the West Virginia high school basketball. Them boys are somethin’ else, they truly are. And that’s all I got to say about that there basketball tournament.
