- Style: Well, I guess some folks care about how they look, even when they’re playin’ rugby. So, gotta have some nice colors and designs, I reckon.
I also heard tell that these women play real, full-contact rugby. Not that powder-puff stuff, but the real deal. Same as the men, they say. Fifteen on each side, runnin’ and smashin’ and whatnot. So, the jerseys gotta be able to handle that, I figure. Can’t have no flimsy material, or it’ll be torn to pieces.
And it ain’t just jerseys, ya know. They got all sorts of other rugby gear, too. Sweatshirts and jackets and hats and all that. I even seen some with fancy embroideries, little badges and stuff. Makes ’em look official, I guess. But really, it’s all about playin’ the game, not what you wear, right? Though I reckon a good jersey can help you feel like you belong to the team, feel like you’re ready to go out there and give it your all.
So, there you have it. My two cents on women’s rugby jerseys. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I know a thing or two about what makes somethin’ good. It’s gotta be tough, it’s gotta be comfortable, and it’s gotta be worth the money. And most important, it’s gotta let those gals play their best and enjoy the game. That’s all that matters, ain’t it?
