Whitefield Academy Football Georgia: What Makes This High School Football Team So Special
Well, let me tell you about this Whitefield Academy football thing in Georgia. Heard a lot about it from the young’uns, they’re always talking about it. This Whitefield Academy, they got a football team, you know? They call ’em the WolfPack. Sounds fierce, don’t it?
These boys, they run around a lot, chasing that ball. They play against other schools, I reckon. One time, I heard they played against a team called North Cobb Christian. Sounds like a church team, don’t it? But they play football, just like Whitefield. It’s all a bit confusing to me, but the kids sure love it.
They got this thing, they keep track of who’s winning and who’s losing, like a scorecard. They call it rankings. Whitefield Academy football team, they got their own place in these rankings. High school football, they call it. These kids, they sure are serious about their football. It’s a big deal around here. These young’uns, they watch it all the time. They keep saying “Georgia High School Football” this and “Georgia High School Football” that, like it’s the most important thing in the world.
- They got a schedule, too.
- Shows when they play and who they play against.
- It’s all organized, like a farmer’s planting schedule.
I seen them play once, I think. Or maybe I just heard about it. They were running around like a bunch of chickens with their heads cut off! But they were good, I guess. They run with the ball a lot, that’s what they do. They said they got 282 rushing yards one time. Don’t know what that means, but it sounds like a lot of running to me. These boys, they’re always running.
And they got these fancy words for everything. “OVR” and “PCT.” Sounds like something the government would come up with. Don’t make much sense to me. But the kids, they understand it. They say it tells you how good the team is. They always talking about “Win-Loss”.
They even watch it on that talking picture box, the television. Something called “NFHS Network” and “Maxpreps.” And something else called “CBS.” You wouldn’t believe the things they have these days. They got these kids streaming and whatever that means. Says “Live and on demand”. Sounds like you can order up football like you order up a mail-order catalog!
This Whitefield Academy football team, they seem to be doing pretty good. They win some, they lose some. Just like life, I reckon. You can’t win ’em all. But they keep playing, and that’s what matters. They get all excited about it. They call it Whitefield Academy WolfPack Football, proud as peacocks.
They got a “School Hub” and “Junior”, too, whatever that means. It’s all newfangled to me. Back in my day, we didn’t have all this fancy stuff. We just played in the dirt. But these kids today, they got it all figured out. They are all about that football.
- They play at home, I think.
- And sometimes they play away.
- Like traveling salesmen, going from place to place.
They even got baseball, too. Georgia High School Association baseball, they call it. Playoffs and all that. It’s a lot to keep up with. But the kids, they love it. They’re always talking about it, keeping track of who’s winning and who’s losing. It’s their whole world, this sports thing.
This Whitefield Academy, it’s a big school, I guess. Got all kinds of sports, not just football. But that football, that’s the big one. That’s what everyone talks about. Especially that Georgia High School Football. It’s a big deal around here. They’re proud of their team, these folks around here. And that’s a good thing, I reckon. Something to bring folks together.
Well, I’ve talked your ear off enough about this Whitefield Academy football. It’s all a bit much for an old lady like me to understand. But the kids love it, and that’s what matters. They’re good kids, these football players. They work hard, and they play hard. And they sure do love their football.
Just makes an old lady’s head spin, all this running and jumping and scoring. But hey, as long as they’re happy, that’s all that counts. They are the future, after all, these young’uns with their football. And their “streaming”.
