Where to Get College Football Schedules to Import on Calendar For Free
Okay, so, I’m a huge college football fan, right? And every year, I find myself constantly checking schedules, game times, and TV channels. It’s a bit of a mess, to be honest. So, this year, I was like, “There’s gotta be a better way to keep track of all this stuff.”
I thought about putting everything into my Google Calendar manually, but, man, that would take forever. There are so many teams and so many games! Then, I remembered hearing something about importing schedules, so I did some digging.
First, I started looking for websites that offer college football schedules. I found a bunch, but not all of them had the option to export the schedule in a format that Google Calendar could use. I’m talking about the iCal or ics format, you know?
After a bit of searching, I stumbled upon a few sites that did offer downloadable schedules. One site even had schedules for individual teams, which was pretty neat. The process was to find the team’s schedule page, look for an “add to calendar” or “download” button, and click it.
- Find a website with downloadable schedules in iCal format.
- Go to the team’s schedule page.
- Look for the “add to calendar” or similar button.
- Click the button and choose to open/import with Google Calendar.
When I clicked the button, my browser asked me if I wanted to open the file with Google Calendar. I said yes, and boom! The schedule was added to my calendar. It was so easy!
I also found out that some sites offer entire conference schedules. And if you use the SportsEngine mobile app on iOS, you can subscribe to team schedules that way. I don’t use that app, but it’s good to know.
Repeating the Process
I repeated the process for a few of my favorite teams, and now my Google Calendar is all set with their schedules. I can see the game times, dates, and even the TV channels, all in one place. No more jumping from website to website!
This is going to make following college football so much easier this year. And the best part is that I can share my calendar with my buddies, so we can all stay on top of the games together. It’s a total game-changer, seriously.
If you’re a college football fan like me, I highly recommend doing this. It saves a ton of time and hassle. Now, I’m just counting down the days until the season starts!
