So, I’ve been getting into this whole tennis thing lately, right? And I figured, what better way to dive in than to check out what’s happening locally. That’s when I stumbled upon Westerville North High School’s tennis scene. I mean, who doesn’t love a good high school sports story?
First thing I did was scope out the courts. Located at 950 County Line Rd, Westerville, it’s pretty easy to find. I drove by and saw they have five public courts. They looked decent, nothing fancy, but definitely playable. I made a mental note to come back and hit a few balls sometime.
Next, I started digging around to see who’s in charge and stumbled upon the name Max Quinton. Apparently, he’s the coach there and has been for a couple of years. From what I gathered, he’s really trying to build up the girls’ tennis program. It sounded like he’s focusing on the younger players, which is cool, you know, building for the future and all that. I started to check players and saw the names Jones, Richards, Vinnime, Spitale, Harvey, Diaz, Shyamalan. These names are great.
Then I thought, “Why not try to join a class or something?” So, I searched around for local coaches in the area. Entered my zip code, and boom, a bunch of options popped up. Found this one coach, Jon, who seems pretty legit. The process seemed straightforward—book a coach, pick a time and a court, and just start playing. I haven’t booked anything yet, but it’s on my to-do list.

I also found out about this thing called TennisColumbus. It’s like a community for tennis players around here. They mentioned the Westerville North HS courts as one of their spots. It’s cool to know there’s a whole bunch of people around here who are into tennis. I’m thinking of joining them; it might be a good way to meet some folks and get some games in.
Westerville North isn’t just about high school tennis, there are also some recreational programs going on. I don’t know much about these, but I saw they have stuff like Tae Kwon Do and basketball for younger kids. I guess they’re trying to keep the community active and engaged.
Anyway, that’s my little adventure into the Westerville North tennis scene so far. I’m excited to get more involved, maybe take some lessons, join the TennisColumbus folks, and just enjoy the game. It’s been a fun ride exploring all this, and I’m looking forward to seeing where it goes. Tennis, anyone?
