Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about these here “minis disc golf” thingamajigs. I ain’t no expert, mind you, but I’ve seen ’em around and heard the young’uns chatterin’. Sounds like a whole lotta fuss over tiny little discs, if you ask me.
First off, what are they? From what I gather, they’re just itty-bitty versions of them flyin’ saucers the kids throw around in the park. You know, the ones that go whizzin’ past your head and sometimes land in the darnedest places? Yeah, these minis are like that, only smaller. I reckon they’re about as big as my palm, maybe a bit bigger. Some are made of plastic, some are metal, and I even heard tell of some fancy ones made of wood or glass. Go figure!
Now, what do folks do with these minis? Seems like the main thing is markin’ where your big disc lands. You know, when you’re playin’ that disc golf game. I ain’t never played it myself, looks like too much walkin’ for my old bones, but I’ve seen ’em doin’ it. They throw the big disc, then they plop down one of these minis where it landed. Then they pick up the big disc and throw it again from behind the mini. That’s the gist of it, I reckon.
Why do they need these minis, you ask? Well, I guess it’s important to be precise in this disc golf game. Can’t just be guessin’ where your disc landed, especially if you’re playin’ in one of them fancy tournaments. Them young’uns get real serious about it, you know. They got rules and regulations and all that jazz. And apparently, the rules say you gotta use a mini to mark your spot.
- They gotta be round, like a little pancake.
- They gotta be a certain size, not too big, not too small.
- And they can’t be too tall neither.
Sounds like a whole lotta fuss to me, but hey, whatever floats their boat, I always say. If they wanna spend their time throwin’ discs and markin’ spots with minis, that’s their business. I’ll stick to my gardenin’ and my porch sittin’, thank you very much.
But I gotta admit, some of these minis are kinda cute. They got all sorts of colors and designs on ’em. Some even look like tiny versions of the big discs. And I heard tell you can get ’em personalized with your name or whatever. Fancy, ain’t it? Makes me wonder if I should get one for myself, just to have. Maybe I could use it to mark my favorite spot in the garden, or somethin’. Or maybe I could just give it to one of the grandkids. They’d probably get a kick out of it.
Anyways, that’s about all I know about these minis disc golf thingies. Like I said, I ain’t no expert, but I’ve seen ’em around and I’ve heard the talk. And from what I can tell, they’re just little markers for a game that involves a whole lotta walkin’ and throwin’. Not my cup of tea, but to each their own, I always say. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go water my petunias. They ain’t gonna water themselves, you know.
Oh, and one more thing I almost forgot. Seems like you can buy these minis all over the place. They got ’em online, they got ’em in stores, and I even heard tell some folks make their own. And they ain’t too expensive neither, which is good, I reckon. Nobody wants to spend a fortune on a little piece of plastic, no matter how fancy it is. And they even got deals sometimes, like free shipping if you buy a certain amount. So, if you’re lookin’ to get into this minis disc golf thing, or if you just need a new marker for your game, it shouldn’t be too hard to find one. Just remember to get one that meets them rules and regulations, or else them tournament folks might give you a hard time.
