Well, let me tell ya, that 2024 middle school football schedule for them Linton, Indiana boys is somethin’ else. My grandson, he’s playin’ this year, and I’m prouder than a peacock with a brand new tail feather. That boy can run like a greased piglet at the county fair!
They got a whole mess of games lined up. First one’s in August. August 22nd if my old memory serves me right. Against them North Daviess boys. They’re a tough bunch, always scrappin’ like a couple of roosters in a dust bath. But I reckon our Linton boys can hold their own. They been practicin’ hard, sweatin’ buckets out there in that summer heat. Lord knows, my grandson comes home smellin’ like a wet dog every day.
Then, after that, they got the Sullivan Arrows on the 29th. Now, them Arrows, they ain’t nothin’ to sneeze at neither. They fly around that field like a swarm of angry bees. Gotta keep your eye on ’em, or they’ll sting ya good. My grandson says the coach is makin’ ’em do all sorts of drills. Runnin’ this way and that, jumpin’ over tires, pushin’ that big sled thing… Looks like a whole lot of work to me, but what do I know? I just bake the pies, you know?

- September 5, 2024 – North Central
Then they play North Central on September 5th. That game, I hear, is gonna be a real barn burner. Those North Central boys, they got some big fellas on their team. Bigger than a couple of my prize-winnin’ hogs, I tell ya! But our Linton boys, they got heart. That’s what counts. They might be smaller, but they got more grit than a bucket of sand.
And that ain’t all! They got games in September, too. September 10th against Eastern Greene, that’s gonna be a big one. Those Eastern Greene boys are always hungry for a win. And then, let’s see…September 19th, they’re playin’ against WRV. I’ve seen them WRV boys play before. They’re like a bunch of wildcats out there. Fast and fierce. Gotta be ready for ’em, or they’ll pounce on ya quicker than a cat on a june bug.

And then, bless their hearts, they even got a game on September 24th. Playin’ against Owen Valley. I heard Owen Valley got a new coach this year. Supposed to be some hotshot from the city. Don’t know what he knows about country football, but we’ll see. Our Linton boys, they know how to play good old-fashioned football. Tough and honest. That’s the way we like it ’round here.

This whole Linton middle school football schedule is a big deal in town, let me tell ya. The whole town will be there cheerin’ them boys. Everybody loves football. And them kids, they play their hearts out. Makes you feel good, you know? Makes you feel like all that hard work means somethin’.
My grandson, he says they want to win every game, of course. He says the coach told ’em to “play every game like it’s your last.” Whatever that means. Sounds kinda scary to me, but I guess that’s what you gotta do to win. And winnin’ is important. Not the most important thing, mind you, but it sure does feel good. I remember back in my day. Well, it’s different now, but that feelin’, when you win, that happy feeling, that’s always the same.
This 2024 Linton football season is gonna be one for the books, I reckon. Lots of excitement, lots of good games. And lots of pie. Gotta keep them boys fueled up, you know? A growing boy needs his pie, specially if he’s gonna be runnin’ around a football field all day. So if you ever come to Linton Indiana, you make sure you come and watch that middle school team play. You will have a great time, trust me. That middle school football is the best!
So, yeah, that’s the middle school Linton Indiana football schedule for 2024, as far as I know. Hope I didn’t leave anythin’ out. My old brain ain’t what it used to be. But one thing’s for sure, them Linton boys are gonna give it their all. And that’s all you can ask for, ain’t it? Just give it your all, and let the chips fall where they may.
