Southeast Missouri State Redhawks Basketball, What’s the Big Deal?
Well, they’re a college basketball team, playin’ for Southeast Missouri State University. Boys runnin’ around, throwin’ a ball, tryin’ to get it in that hoop. Sounds simple enough, right? But these fellas, they put their heart and soul into it, or so they say. I seen ’em on TV once, kinda blurry, but they were movin’ fast, I tell ya!
They got a whole bunch of games, a schedule they call it. Playin’ all sorts of teams, from here and there, I reckon. Heard tell they got a game comin’ up on Saturday, January 6th, at home. That means they playin’ in their own backyard, so to speak. Folks ’round here get all riled up for them home games, cheerin’ and hollerin’ like a bunch of wild turkeys.

Numbers, I guess, about how many points they scored, how many times they threw that ball, and all that. My grandson says it’s important, but I just care if they win or lose, simple as that.
Now, they call themselves the Redhawks. Guess that’s their mascot, like a fancy chicken or somethin’. I ain’t never seen a real red hawk, but I reckon they’re supposed to be tough and fast, just like the players, hopefully.

My Two Cents on the Matter
Now, I ain’t no basketball fanatic, but I like seein’ these young fellas try their best. It’s good for the town, gets folks together, gives ’em somethin’ to cheer about. And who knows, maybe these Redhawks will go far, win a bunch of games, make us all proud. Or maybe they’ll lose, that’s part of the game too, I guess. Either way, it’s somethin’ to talk about, right? Keeps things interestin’.
