SEMO Mens Basketball Scores, Stats and Highlights
Well, let me tell ya somethin’ about this Semo men’s basketball. It’s a bunch of young fellas runnin’ around tryin’ to throw a ball into a hoop, ya know? Like them Redhawks from Southeast Missouri State University.
Now, I ain’t no expert, but I watch ’em on that TV sometimes. They got this schedule, see? Games all lined up, one after another. And they keep track of scores. Who’s winnin’, who’s losin’. It’s like keepin’ score in a chicken-feedin’ contest, only with more jumpin’ and yellin’.
They say on that TV that you can watch ’em live. See the game right as it happens. And they got these “video highlights” they call ’em. Just the best parts, I reckon. Like when someone makes a fancy shot or steals the ball real sneaky-like.
This “Redhawks Basketball,” that’s what they call it. It’s a big deal round here, I guess. Folks get all riled up about it. They got their own page and everything, this “official page.” Like it’s some kinda important government document or somethin’.
And they play other schools too. Like this Vanderbilt Commodores. And Arkansas. Big names, I hear. It’s all part of this “college basketball” thing. I tell ya, these young folks got too much energy. Runnin’ and jumpin’ like that, they’ll wear themselves out.
- They got this “live score” thing. Tells ya who’s winnin’ right then and there.
- Then there’s the “schedule.” When they playin’ and who they playin’ against.
- And “stats” too, whatever them are. Numbers, mostly. I guess it helps folks figger out who’s good and who ain’t.
They even got a “2024 season schedule.” Plannin’ way ahead, them fellas. And they talk about “conference records” and “post-season records.” Sounds fancy, but it’s just winnin’ and losin’, near as I can tell.
And this “strength of schedule” thing. I guess that means they play against some tough teams. Makes ’em better, maybe? Like workin’ hard in the fields makes ya strong, I reckon.
I saw one game, or part of one, anyhow. They were sayin’ somethin’ about “four players scorin’ in double digits.” Means they got a lot of points, I think. And they were playin’ some good “defense,” too. Stoppin’ the other team from scorin’. That’s important, I hear. You gotta be able to stop them fellas from gettin’ ahead of ya. Like keepin’ them chickens outta the garden.
So, this Semo men’s basketball… it’s a whole lotta runnin’ and jumpin’, scorin’ and defendin’. And folks get real worked up about it. Me? I just watch sometimes, when I ain’t got nothin’ better to do. It’s kinda like watchin’ a bunch of energetic roosters fightin’ over a piece of corn, only with a ball and a hoop.
Semo basketball, Southeast Missouri State Redhawks, they’re all the same to me. Young fellas playin’ a game. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. That’s life, I guess.
One thing is for sure, they are trying to put that ball in the net like trying to get these hens to lay their eggs in the right spot.
They have their “Redhawks Basketball” and “Semo Basketball,” just a bunch of names for the same thing, a bunch of young guys giving it all on the court. Just like me trying to make the best jam from my berries every year.
I see them on TV, always running up and down. Sometimes I wonder if they ever get tired, but then again these youngsters have more energy than a swarm of bees on a summer day.
Southeast Missouri State, they are trying their best, and that’s all you can ask. I mean, as long as they’re trying as hard as I do to keep the squirrels out of my bird feeder, I am okay with them.
