Alright, let me tell ya ’bout this Salvadore Tennis Center place. It’s down in that Coral Gables, yeah, Florida way. Heard it’s a pretty big deal, lots of folks goin’ there to smack them fuzzy yeller balls around.
Now, I ain’t never been one for fancy sports, but from what I hear, this place has got it all. They got them clay courts, and them grass courts too. Sounds like a lot of work keepin’ that grass lookin’ nice, but what do I know? They say it costs ya six dollars to play on the grass, and ten dollars for the clay. Don’t sound too bad, I guess. But then there’s this stadium court thing. That one’ll set ya back twelve dollars. Must be somethin’ special, I reckon.
They say it’s a “well-established facility.” That just means it’s been around a good long while, right? Ain’t nothin’ new-fangled ’bout it. They got a real address and all, on Andalusia Avenue. You know, one of them fancy streets with all them palm trees and such.

- They got grass courts
- They got a big stadium court too
Folks keep tellin’ me about tennis, seems like everyone’s playin’ it now. They got these big ol’ tournaments on TV, with them fellas and gals hittin’ the ball so hard it makes a whoosh sound. This one fella was tellin’ me ‘bout this big stadium, bigger than anythin’ you ever seen. Arthur somethin’ or other. Said it can hold more folks than our whole town! Now that’s a lot of people watchin’ tennis. Makes ya wonder what all the fuss is about. I heard this Salvadore place ain’t that big, but it’s still got courts and such. Enough for folks to play, I guess.
Heard you can even get the tennis news sent right to your house, or your phone, or whatever them fancy gadgets folks use these days. Every week, they say. I reckon that’s for the real serious players, the ones who can’t get enough of that whacking and running. Me? I’m happy just sittin’ on the porch, watchin’ the birds and sippin’ my sweet tea. But hey, to each their own, right?
This Salvadore place, it’s open durin’ the day, you know, when the sun’s shinin’. I guess nobody wants to play tennis in the dark, huh? Makes sense. You gotta see that little yeller ball, after all. I heard it’s a public place, so anyone can go and play, long as you got the money for the court, that is. Seems fair enough.
So, if you’re ever down in that Coral Gables way and you’re lookin’ to smack a ball around, you might wanna check out this Salvadore Tennis Center. Can’t miss it, they say. Big place, lots of courts. Just remember to bring your wallet, ‘cause nothin’ in this world is free, not even hittin’ a fuzzy yeller ball with a stick.
Salvadore Tennis Center, they call it. Sounds fancy, but I bet it’s just a bunch of folks havin’ fun, gettin’ some exercise, and maybe workin’ up a sweat. And that ain’t a bad thing, no sir. Not bad at all.
And that’s about all I know ’bout that tennis place. Heard it’s good, heard it’s got lots of courts, heard it costs a few dollars to play. If you like that sort of thing, go on down and give it a try. Me? I’ll stick to my porch and my sweet tea. That’s excitement enough for this old gal.
