Alright, let’s talk about them Pacers, you know, the basketball team. Folks been askin’ me, “What’s gonna happen with them Pacers?” Well, I ain’t got no crystal ball, but I can tell ya what I see, what I hear, and what kinda feels right in my gut.
Now, they got this game comin’ up, see? November 25th, 2024, they gonna be playin’ at that Gainbridge place. Fancy name, huh? Gainbridge Fieldhouse, they call it. Sounds like somethin’ outta a fairy tale, but it’s just a basketball court, far as I can tell.
Heard tell they playin’ against the Pelicans. Pelicans, that’s a funny name for a team. Makes you think of birds, not basketball players. Anyway, some folks who know about these things, they sayin’ Pacers got a good chance of winnin’. Somethin’ like 73.4%, they say. That sounds pretty good, right? Like if you had 73 apples and only 27 bad ones, you’d be feelin’ pretty good ’bout them apples, wouldn’t ya?
- So, that’s one thing. Pacers lookin’ good for that game.
- But then there’s this other game, against the Knicks. Now, them Knicks, they from New York City, big place, lots of people. They sayin’ the Knicks is the favorites in that one, by like three and a half points. What’s a half point anyway? Can you score half a basket? I dunno, makes no sense to me.
They also talkin’ about points, you know, how many baskets they gonna make altogether? They call it the over/under, somethin’ like 229 points. That’s a whole lotta points, if you ask me. Means they gotta be runnin’ and jumpin’ and throwin’ that ball all over the place. Gonna be a real barn burner, I reckon.
Now, this fella, Andrew Nembhard, he plays for the Pacers. I seen him on the TV, runnin’ up and down the court. He’s a good one, they say. But it takes more than one fella to win a game, don’t it? You gotta have a whole team, workin’ together, like a buncha chickens peckin’ at the same corn cob.
And talkin’ ’bout winnin’, the Pacers, they won some championships before, way back when. 1970, 1972, and 1973, they say. That’s a long time ago, ain’t it? Before most of you young folks was even born, I bet. But it shows they know how to win, these Pacers. They got it in ’em, you know? It’s in their blood, like good farm stock.
So, what’s my prediction? Well, like I said, I ain’t no fortune teller. But I think the Pacers got a good chance, specially in that game against the Pelicans. The Knicks game, that’ll be tougher, but you never know. Sometimes the underdog comes out on top, just like that little runt piglet that ends up bein’ the biggest hog in the pen. It’s all about heart and hustle, see? And them Pacers, they got plenty of that, far as I can see. They play hard, they run fast, and they don’t give up easy. That’s what counts, more than all them fancy numbers and predictions, if you ask me.
So keep your eyes on them Pacers, folks. They might just surprise you. And if they don’t, well, it’s just a game, ain’t it? There’s always next season.
