Alright, so the other day, I got this wild idea to check out “naked men rugby.” Yeah, you heard that right. I know, it sounds crazy, but I was curious, and down the rabbit hole I went.
First, I jumped onto the internet, not really knowing what to expect. I typed in those three magic words and hit enter. Boom! A bunch of stuff popped up. Some articles talked about how rugby is a sport for all body types and sizes, which is pretty cool. No discrimination there, just pure athleticism.
Then I stumbled upon some stuff about gender norms in sports. It got me thinking about how some folks think rugby is just a “man’s game.” But hey, anyone can play, right? It’s all about how you handle yourself on the field, not your gender.
I also read that in rugby union, the forwards usually wear headgear for scrums, rucks, and mauls. Apparently, it doesn’t really protect against concussions, but it does help with small knocks. Interesting, huh? And then there’s rugby league, which seems to have more wrestling and ball control.
Next, I found this story about a university rugby team that used to play this game called “hide the turd” at parties. Man, college kids are wild! It made me chuckle, I won’t lie. There’s also the team who are just running around the field in their birthday suits, I guess.
Then, I discovered this calendar thing. Apparently, there’s a naked calendar for 2022 featuring players from the Manchester Village Spartans RUFC. And get this, 52 guys of all shapes and sizes went completely nude for it! I guess it is a thing.
Lastly, I learned that rugby union has been around in the United States for 150 years, and the country even won Olympic golds in the 15-a-side game back in 1920 and 1924. That’s some history right there. I didn’t even know it was played in the USA.
So, that’s my journey into the world of naked men rugby. It was a wild ride, full of surprises and laughs. I went in not knowing what to expect, and I came out with a whole new perspective on the sport and the people who play it. It just goes to show, you never know what you’ll find when you start exploring.
