Looking for Tennis Courts? Westerville North Has Great Options for All Levels
Okay, so today, I wanted to hit some balls, play some tennis, you know? I got this idea to check out the tennis courts at Westerville North. First thing, I grabbed my phone and just Googled “tennis courts in Westerville.”
Boom! A bunch of places popped up. There’s this Metzger Park, Hoff Woods Park, and some place called Wickertree Tennis Club. Also saw something about a swimming pool, but that’s not what I’m after today. I even noticed a country club on the list – fancy, but probably not for me.
I decided to focus on the ones near Westerville North. It seems like there’s this TennisColumbus community, a group of players, and they sometimes meet at the Westerville North High School courts. I figured that sounded promising.
Getting Ready
I packed my racket, some tennis balls, and a water bottle. Gotta stay hydrated, right? I hopped in my car and drove over to the high school. It’s on County Line Rd. Can’t miss it.
At the Courts
When I got there, I saw a few people already playing. They seemed to know what they were doing. I walked over and, just to be sure, I asked one of them if these were the Westerville North courts. They said yeah.
I found an empty court and started warming up. Hit some forehands, backhands, and a few serves. It felt good to be out there. After a while, I thought maybe I could find someone to play with.
Finding a Partner
I noticed a guy practicing his serves on the next court. He looked like he was around my skill level, maybe a bit better. I walked over and asked if he wanted to play a set. He was cool with it, so we started playing.
We had a pretty good match. He was definitely better than me, but I held my own. We played for about an hour. It was a good workout, and I had a lot of fun.
Wrapping Up
After the match, we chatted for a bit. He told me he plays at these courts pretty often. Said there’s usually a good mix of people here, all skill levels. We exchanged numbers and said we should play again sometime.
So, that was my day at the Westerville North tennis courts. It was a good experience. I got some exercise, met a new tennis buddy, and found a decent place to play near me. I’ll definitely be back. Maybe next time I’ll try that TennisColumbus thing and see if I can get in on some group matches.
