- Then there’s them plain ones, I think. Maybe with a little somethin’ on the chest, a picture or somethin’. An emblem, they call it. Like a little badge. My grandson’s got one with a sheep on it, silly thing. He says it’s the Brooks Brothers sheep. Who knew sheep wore shirts?
- And they got all sorts of colors too. Red, blue, green, you name it. My grandson says they call it color-blocking when they put different colors together. Sounds like somethin’ my old hens do when they’re fightin’ over scraps.
Now, about them buttons. This ain’t got no regular buttons, mind you. These are rubber buttons, three of ’em, right down the middle. My grandson says they’re better, won’t break so easy. I dunno, buttons are buttons to me. And the collar, it’s a different color than the shirt most times. Fancy, I tell ya.
And the sleeves! They got stripes too, sometimes. My grandson’s shirt, it’s got stripes on the sleeves. Looks like he’s wearin’ armbands or somethin’. They say it’s all about sporty style. Like ya gonna go play some kinda rough game. My grandson wears it to school, though. Ain’t nothin’ sporty ’bout sittin’ in a classroom all day.
They say these shirts are comfortable. Well, I hope so, considerin’ how much they cost! My grandson says it feels soft, made of cotton, he says. Like my old bedsheets, but thicker, I guess. He says it’s perfect for any occasion. Hmph, guess that means he can wear it to church and to the pig roast. Kids these days, wearin’ fancy shirts everywhere.
Oh, and some of ’em got pockets! Big ol’ pockets in the front, like a kangaroo pouch. Kangaroo pocket, they call it. My grandson don’t got one of them, but I seen ’em in the store. Guess ya can put yer hands in there, or maybe a couple of apples, who knows.
So, that’s the lowdown on this here Brooks Brothers Rugby Shirt. It’s a shirt, a fancy shirt, but a shirt nonetheless. Stripes, buttons, collars, pockets… it’s got it all, I guess. Whether it’s worth all that fuss and money, well, that’s up to you. Me? I’ll stick to my old cotton dresses. They’re comfortable enough for me.
You can find these shirts at all sorts of places, even online, they tell me. Nordstromrack, they call one of ’em. And another place, just Nordstrom. Sounds like a bunch of gibberish to me, but my grandson, he knows all about it. He’s always on that computer, clickin’ and tappin’ away.
So, if you’re lookin’ for a shirt that’s more than just a shirt, I guess this Brooks Brothers Rugby Shirt is it. Just be prepared to shell out some dough, ‘cause these fancy things ain’t cheap. But hey, if it makes ya feel good and look good, who am I to judge? Just make sure ya wash it proper, don’t wanna ruin a perfectly good, uh… sporty, comfortable, stylish, whatever-you-call-it shirt.
