Alright, so listen up, y’all. We gonna talk about this… this “k state utah football,” whatever that means. Sounds fancy, but I reckon it’s just some boys throwin’ a ball around.
Kansas State Wildcats, yeah? I heard some folks talkin’ ’bout them. Said they were supposed to be good, real good. Like, winnin’ championships and stuff. But then, you know how it goes, things don’t always turn out the way them city slickers predict. They said somethin’ about the Wildcats not “controlin’ their own destiny.” Sounds like a bunch of hogwash to me. If you wanna win, you just gotta go out there and fight for it, ain’t no destiny about it.
- Them Wildcats, they played some other teams, I guess. West Virginia, that’s one I remember.
- And that UT-Martin, sounds like a small town team, probably not much competition.
Then there’s this Utah team. Folks call ’em the Cougars, like them big cats out in the mountains. Heard they got a game down in Provo. Now, Provo, that’s a place I know. Got some good folks down there, but I don’t know much about their football. They said somethin’ about “CougarTails after dark.” Don’t know what that means, maybe some kinda fancy city food? Probably ain’t as good as my fried chicken, that’s for sure.
Seems like everyone was yappin’ about this Big 12 thing. Big 12 this, Big 12 that. Sounded like a big deal, all these teams fightin’ to be the best. They mentioned Arizona, Kansas, Oklahoma State, and Utah all bein’ contenders. Lots of names, hard to keep track of ’em all. Reminds me of tryin’ to count chickens, they just keep movin’ around.
Now, these fellas on the radio, they were talkin’ ’bout some games. Said Colorado was gonna play Utah. Colorado, huh? That’s up in the mountains too, ain’t it? All these places, sound so far away. Back in my day, we didn’t travel much, just stayed put and worked the land.
They also mentioned somethin’ about insiders, Mitch Harper and Steve Bartle. Don’t know who they are, probably some fellas who think they know everything about football. They talk and talk, but at the end of the day, it’s the boys on the field who gotta do the work. Talkin’ don’t win games, playin’ does.
This whole football thing, it’s a lot to take in. All these teams, all these games, all this talkin’. But I reckon it’s just like life, you gotta work hard, you gotta fight for what you want, and you gotta keep on goin’ even when things get tough. Them Wildcats, them Cougars, they all gotta do the same thing. And at the end of the day, only one team can win, just like only one rooster gets to rule the henhouse.
So, that’s what I know about this “k state utah football.” Probably more than I needed to know, but there you have it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my chickens.
One more thing, though. They mentioned that the season was in 2024. Well, that ain’t too far off, is it? Time sure does fly, just like a good pass in one of them football games, I reckon.
And all this talk about championships and rankings… it’s a lot of fuss for a game, if you ask me. But I guess it makes folks happy, and that’s what matters. Just like a good harvest makes me happy.
