Alright, let’s talk about this here… whatchamacallit… 2024 Bowman Mega Box and that Sebastian Walcott fella’s auto card, the one they say is only one in 25 boxes. Now, I ain’t no fancy card expert or nothin’, but I hear folks are goin’ crazy for these things, so let me tell you what I reckon.
First off, this Walcott kid, they say he’s a “prospect,” which I guess means he’s good at playing that baseball game. They got him in High-A, whatever that is. Sounds important, I guess. And this card, it’s a “Bowman Chrome” card, shiny and all, with his “auto” on it. That means his signature, you know, like when you sign your name on a check. Only, this here signature is worth somethin’, apparently.
Now, I seen some folks sayin’ this card, the orange one, only 25 of ’em made, can go for somethin’ crazy like $3,200! Can you believe that? Three thousand and two hundred dollars for a little piece of cardboard with a boy’s scribble on it! Makes my head spin, it does. I could buy a whole lotta chickens with that kinda money, let me tell ya.
Then there’s all these other Walcott cards, see? They got ’em in Bowman Ultimate, Bowman Sterling, Bowman Scouts Top 100… it’s like they’re printin’ money with this boy’s face on it. Some of ‘em are even signed by two fellas, like that one with Felnin Celesten. And they got prices, all different kinds, dependin’ on if the card’s been “graded” or not. Graded, I hear, means some fella looks at it real close and gives it a number, like how pretty it is or somethin’. The higher the number, the more it’s worth, I reckon.
- Bowman Chrome: Shiny and with the signature.
- Bowman Ultimate: Another fancy kind, I guess.
- Bowman Sterling: More cards, more money, that’s how it goes.
- Bowman Scouts Top 100: They put him on a list, this Walcott kid. Must be good.
They got these websites, see, where they sell these cards. Places like eBay and *, I hear. And folks are biddin’ on ’em, tryin’ to get the best price. It’s like a big ol’ auction, only with baseball cards instead of cows. And Fanatics Collect, they got ’em too, sayin’ they keep ’em safe and sound. Makes sense, I guess, if you’re spendin’ that much money on a little piece of cardboard.
Then there’s this “2024 Bowman AI” thing. Don’t rightly know what that is, sounds like some kinda computer makin’ the cards now. But they got prices for those too. Everything’s got a price, seems like. Makes you wonder what it all means.
And don’t forget about this “Bowman’s Best” they talk about. Says it’s all about the rookies and prospects, just like this Walcott fella. So I guess that’s why his cards are so hot right now. Everyone wants a piece of the next big thing, even if it’s just a picture on a card.
So, is this 2024 Bowman Mega Box and the Sebastian Walcott auto card worth it? Well, I ain’t gonna tell you what to do with your money, but it seems like a gamble to me. You could get lucky and pull that one-in-25 card and make a bunch of money, or you could end up with a bunch of cards that ain’t worth much. It’s like buyin’ a lottery ticket, only instead of numbers, you got pictures of baseball players. Me? I’d rather stick to my chickens. They lay eggs, and you can eat ’em. Can’t eat a baseball card, now can ya?
But hey, if you got the money to spare and you like that baseball game, go ahead and buy yourself a box. Maybe you’ll get lucky. Just don’t come cryin’ to me if you don’t. And remember, there’s more to life than cardboard and signatures. There’s family, friends, and a good home-cooked meal. That’s what really matters, if you ask me.
Anyways, that’s just my two cents on this whole shebang. Take it or leave it, it don’t matter none to me. I’m just an old woman tryin’ to make sense of the world, one crazy baseball card at a time.
