Hey there, young’uns! Gather ’round and let this old gal tell ya about them JCU men’s basketball fellas. They’re somethin’ else, I tell ya. Strong as oxen and quick as rabbits, them boys are. I heard they good this year, real good.
JCU Basketball Good This Year
They been playin’ basketball for a long time over at JCU. That’s John Carroll, for them that don’t know. My grandson, bless his heart, he goes there. Says it’s a good school. I don’t know nothin’ about that, but I sure do know them boys can play ball. They play hard, they do.
They won a bunch of games, I reckon. Saw somethin’ about it in the paper the other day. Said they was number 3. Number 3! Can you believe that? Outta all the teams in the whole dang country, they’re number 3. They call ’em the Blue Streaks. Like a streak of blue lightnin’, I suppose. Fast and powerful.
- They beat a team called Albertus Magnus.
- Beat ’em good, too. 108 to 90.
- That’s a lot of points, ain’t it?
I seen ’em play once. My grandson took me. It was loud, let me tell ya. Lots of folks cheerin’ and stompin’ their feet. But it was fun. Them boys was runnin’ up and down the court like their tails was on fire. They was throwin’ that ball around, bouncin’ it, shootin’ it. It was a sight to see, I tell ya. JCU basketball is really something to watch.
They Got Some Good Players
They got this one fella, Chicone, I think his name is. He’s a good one. He can shoot that ball from way out yonder. Made a big shot against Marietta, I heard. They was behind, but he made a shot and they won. Good for him, that Chicone boy. That’s what I heard, anyhow.
Another team, Brockport Golden Eagles, yeah, they got beat by JCU men’s basketball too. 85-69, that was the score, they said. Home opener, too. That’s what they call it when you play at your own place. Tony DeCarlo Varsity, that’s where they play. Sounds fancy, don’t it? All them fancy names. Back in my day, we just played in the dirt field behind the schoolhouse.
They even went to some big tournament, I heard. Penn State Harrisburg Tip-off Classic. Fancy name for a basketball game, if you ask me. But I reckon that’s how they do things these days. They was playin’ two days in a row, the paper said. Tough on them young boys, I bet. But they gotta be tough to play JCU basketball.
They Say JCU Basketball Is Ranked
They got all these fancy ways of sayin’ how good a team is. Rankin’s, they call ’em. Some website, *, they said JCU was number 3. Before the season even started! That’s somethin’, ain’t it? Preseason, they call it. Like a season before the season. Confusin’, if you ask me. But they must be good if they’re ranked number 3 in the whole country.
They got another thing called NET. Not like a fishin’ net, no sir. This NET thing, it looks at all sorts of stuff. How many games you win, who you play, where you play. Offense, defense. All that stuff. It’s all too complicated for this old gal. All I know is, them JCU men’s basketball boys are good. Real good. They play good basketball.
They won a game in that big NCAA thing a couple years back. Didn’t win the whole thing, though. Got beat in the second game. But that’s alright. You can’t win ’em all. Just gotta keep tryin’, keep playin’ hard. They good boys, they are. They play good and they good boys. That’s important.
You Should Watch Them Play
If you get a chance, you should go watch ’em play. It’s a real hoot, I tell ya. Lots of excitement. And them boys, they play their hearts out. You can see it in their eyes. They want to win. And they usually do. They good boys, those JCU basketball players. They good boys. They good players, for sure. You go see them, you hear? They play hard, they play good, you have fun watch them. You won’t be sorry.
