Okay, so the other day I was playing golf, and my balls were just filthy, covered in mud and grass and who knows what else. It was affecting my game, making my shots all wonky. So, I figured it was time to give those balls a good cleaning.
First, I gathered all my dirty golf balls. I had about a dozen of them scattered around my bag. Then, I headed to the kitchen and grabbed a big bowl.
Next, I filled the bowl with warm water and squirted in some dish soap. I figured that if it’s good enough for greasy dishes, it’s good enough for my golf balls. I gave the water a good stir to make sure the soap was all mixed in.
Then, I dumped all the golf balls into the soapy water and let them soak for a bit. While they were soaking, I found an old toothbrush that I didn’t need anymore.
After about 10 minutes, I started scrubbing each ball with the toothbrush. I made sure to get into all the little dimples to get all the dirt out. It was a bit tedious, but I knew it would be worth it.
Once I scrubbed all the balls, I rinsed them off with clean water. I wanted to make sure all the soap was gone so it wouldn’t mess with my grip or anything.
Finally, I laid all the clean golf balls out on a towel to dry. I figured they would dry faster if I spread them out instead of leaving them piled up in the bowl.
My Personal Tips:
- Use warm water, not hot. Hot water might damage the balls.
- Don’t use harsh chemicals like bleach. They can also damage the balls or discolor them.
- Make sure to rinse the balls thoroughly. Leftover soap can affect their performance.
- Air dry the balls completely before using them again.
And that’s it! It’s a pretty simple process, but it makes a big difference. My golf balls were sparkling clean, and I swear my game improved because of it. Or maybe it was just a placebo effect, who knows. Either way, I’ll definitely be keeping my golf balls clean from now on. I have already added this to my schedule.
