- Then they’re traipsin’ off to Detroit to play at Tom Adams Field.

I saw on that there… uh… what do you call it… the “E-S-P-N”? Yeah, that thing. They got all the scores and times and such. Showed when them Cardinals won and when they lost. Like that time they beat Winona State 38 to 14. Whipped ‘em good, they did! But then they lost to Northwood, 10 to 7. Close game, that one. Tough luck, I say.
You can watch these games, too, if you’re a mind to. They got ‘em on somethin’ called FloFootball and an app, whatever that is. Sounds complicated. I reckon you youngsters know all about that fancy stuff. Me? I just like sittin’ on the porch, watchin’ the birds fly by.
The Schedule’s Packed Tighter Than A Pickle Jar!
Them Cardinals got a whole schedule full of games. Seems like they’re playin’ every week. Just saw somethin’ about ‘em playin’ Michigan Tech Huskies in their last home game. Cardinals was 7 and 3, whatever that means. Guess it means they’re doin’ pretty good. They say if you like college football, whether you’re a “seasoned fan” or a “newcomer,” you’ll enjoy watchin’ these games. Seasoned fan, huh? Like a good ol’ cast iron skillet, I reckon.
It ain’t just about winnin’ and losin’, though. I hear tell these youngsters gotta study hard too, get their learnin’ in. Can’t be all fun and games, I guess. Reminds me of when my grandpappy used to say, “Work hard, play hard, that’s the way to live.” Smart fella, he was.
