Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this football helmet design thing for a while now, and I finally cracked the code on something that looks pretty cool – flames! I’m not talking about just any flames, I’m talking about making a football helmet look like it’s on fire. It sounds a bit wild, but trust me, it’s awesome.
I started with browsing through tons of vector images online. I mean, there are like, 29,000 of them! Just type in “Football Design Flame” and you’ll see what I mean. It took a while, and I filled up my hard drive with all sorts of designs. Then I moved on to searching for “Football Helmet Fire” and I found even more stuff. After downloading a bunch of those, I started getting a clearer picture of what I wanted.
I came across this article online about some of the best and worst NFL helmet designs. They graded each one, which was kind of cool. It gave me some ideas, and I started to sketch my design. That was the hard part, it took a lot of paper to make a final sketch, I drew a lot of flames and helmets, I was a little crazy about it, haha.
Start my design
- Drawing and Painting
First, I grabbed my sketchbook and started doodling. I tried out different flame shapes and sizes, seeing how they’d wrap around a helmet. Then, I grabbed my tablet and started playing around with colors. I wanted the flames to look realistic, but also vibrant and eye-catching. After a lot of trial and error, I finally settled on a design that I liked.
- Created with Photoshop
Then I stumbled upon this free PSD football helmet mockup template. It was perfect! It’s like this blank helmet canvas where you can add your designs. It’s fully editable, so I could tweak everything to my liking. I spent hours on Photoshop, pasting my flame designs onto the helmet, adjusting the colors, and adding shadows to make it look like the flames were really coming off the helmet. It was a lot of work, but so worth it.
- Adjusting and Finalizing
I must have changed the design like a hundred times. Each time I thought I was done, I’d see something new to improve. But eventually, I got it to a point where I was really happy with it. The flames looked hot, the colors popped, and the whole design just screamed “cool.”
I showed it to a few of my buddies, and they were all blown away. They said it looked like something a pro team would wear. That’s when I knew I had something special. I even thought about sending it to some NFL teams, just to see what they’d say. Who knows, maybe one day you’ll see my flaming helmet on the field! Anyway, it’s been a fun ride, and I’m stoked to see where this design journey takes me next.
