I heard tell they play in somethin’ called the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association, or CIAA for short. Sounds important. They got all sorts of other schools they play against. Like this UNCP team, I heard the Broncos beat ’em last year. First time ever, can ya believe it? Folks were real happy ’bout that.
- They got a schedule, which is just a list of when they play and who they play against. You can find it online, I hear. Just type in “Fayetteville State football schedule” and it’ll pop right up, like magic!
- And then they got the scores. That’s how you know if they won or lost. More points means you win, simple as that. I like it when they win, makes folks happy.
- They also got these stats. I don’t rightly know what all them numbers mean, but folks who like the game, they eat it up. How far they threw the ball, how fast they ran, all that jazz.
More Than Just a Game
Now, it ain’t just about the football, you know. It’s about the whole school, Fayetteville State University. It’s a big place, lots of young folks learnin’ stuff. And the football team, well, it’s like the face of the school, I guess. Gets folks all riled up and proud.
I even heard tell of a fella, Affion Crockett his name was. Went to Fayetteville State way back when, and now he’s a big shot comedian in Hollywood. See? Good things can come from that school. Maybe them football players will be famous one day too, ya never know.
The Important Stuff, or So They Say
They got all this official stuff, you know. Like the official roster and the official schedule. You can find it all on the internet, they tell me. Just type in “Fayetteville State Broncos” and you’ll find all sorts of things. They even got a website for their athletics, all fancy and such.
And seems like they take things serious. Got rules about everything. Can’t be drinkin’ no alcohol on school property, unless they say it’s okay. Guess that makes sense, don’t want them players gettin’ all tipsy before a game.
So, What Did We Learn?
Well, Fayetteville State got a football team, the Broncos. They play other schools, try to win games. Folks get excited about it. It’s part of the whole school thing. And you can find all sorts of information about ’em online, if you’re into that sort of thing. Me? I just like hearin’ the hollerin’ when they win. Makes the town feel alive, you know?
And I heard they didn’t win the championship again this year. Folks were kinda sad, but hey, ya can’t win ’em all, right? They’ll try again next year, that’s for sure. These young fellas, they got plenty of fight in ’em.
