But we had fun. We played hard, and we cheered loud. And when someone made a set shot, well, that was somethin’ special. It took skill, it took concentration, and it took a whole lotta practice. You couldn’t just run around and throw the ball up in the air. You had to be precise, you had to be steady, and you had to have good form.
I reckon them set shots ain’t used much anymore. These days, it’s all about jump shots and layups and dunks. But I tell ya, there’s somethin’ to be said for the old ways. There’s a certain beauty in the simplicity of a set shot. It’s a lost art, I guess you could say.
