Well, let me tell you, I heard something ’bout this Chicago Pro 2024 thing. Sounds like a big ol’ muscle show, you know? Lots of folks talkin’ ’bout it. This whole bodybuilding thing is somethin’ else, ain’t it?
Big Muscles in Chicago
They say this fella, Mohamed Foda, he won the big prize. He must be one strong fella, liftin’ all them weights and such. I reckon he’s from Egypt. Imagine that, all the way from Egypt to Chicago! He won the Men’s Open, whatever that means. Sounds important, though. Probably got a big ol’ trophy or somethin’.
Then there’s another one, Marcello Alfonsi. He won somethin’ called Men’s 212. Don’t ask me what that number means. Maybe it’s how much they gotta lift? I don’t know. But he won it, so good for him, I suppose.
All Kinds of Folks at This Show
They got all kinds of categories, I hear. Somethin’ called Classic somethin’ or other. Lots of different folks, all muscled up and whatnot. They say they’re all tryin’ to get to a place called Olympia. Sounds like a fancy place. Must be where they give out the really big prizes. I don’t know, i am not very clear about this. But it seems really big.
These folks, they work real hard, I reckon. Liftin’ weights, eatin’ right, you know the drill. It ain’t easy, that’s for sure. I couldn’t do it, no sir. My bones would probably just snap in two! Hahaha.
Gettin’ a Pro Card
And get this, they gotta get somethin’ called a pro card. Sounds important. I guess you gotta be real good to get one of those. Only a few people get ’em each year. It ain’t easy, that’s for sure. This guy named Karan Yadav, maybe he got one, maybe he didn’t. Who knows? This whole thing is a little confusing, if I’m being honest with you.
I saw a list somewhere that says:
- Mohamed Foda – He’s the big winner, I guess.
- Marcello Alfonsi – He won that 212 thing.
- And a bunch of other folks I don’t remember.
This NPC Thing
Then there’s this NPC. National Physique Committee, that’s what they call it. Sounds official, don’t it? They’re the ones puttin’ on these shows, I think. They say they’re the biggest ones doin’ it. Since way back in ’82, they say. That’s a long time ago! These bodybuilding folks have been doin this for a long time, it seems. And there are some pro qualifiers and regionals things.
These fellas get pro cards, and then go on to some other things. And some things called “Masters Olympia“. There are many rules. A lot of rules for everything, I guess.
This Whole Thing is Somethin’
It’s a whole world, this bodybuilding thing. Lots of folks dedicatin’ their lives to it. It’s somethin’ to see, I suppose. All them muscles, all that hard work. It ain’t for me, but I can appreciate it, I guess. But it is hard to get a pro card. If you want one, you gotta work real hard, I reckon.
IFBB Professional League
I hear there’s something called the IFBB Professional League. Sounds fancy, don’t it? They’re probably the big bosses of this whole bodybuilding thing. They have many schedules. I guess they’re the ones who decide who gets to go to Olympia and all that. They’re probably the ones who make all the rules, too.
Well, that’s all I know about this Chicago Pro 2024. It’s a lot to take in, ain’t it? All these names, all these categories. But it’s somethin’ to talk about, that’s for sure. And all of them should follow the rules.
These young folks and their muscles. Back in my day, we got our exercise from workin’ the farm, not liftin’ weights! But hey, to each their own, right?
