Well, howdy there! You wanna know about them WV high school basketball scores, huh? Alright, I’ll tell ya what I know. It ain’t always easy to keep up with all them young’uns runnin’ around, but I do my best.
Now, first thing’s first, where you gonna find these scores? Seems like these days, everyone’s got their phones glued to their hands. I ain’t one of them, mind you. But I hear tell there’s this thing called “MaxPreps.” Sounds fancy, don’t it? They say it’s got all the scores, and even highlights! I guess that means you can watch them kids playin’ on that little screen. Lord have mercy, what will they think of next?
Then there’s somethin’ called “BVM Sports.” Another one of them fancy names. They got scores and schedules, too. Schedules! Back in my day, we just showed up when the game was. Didn’t need no fancy schedule tellin’ us when to be there. But I guess times have changed, eh?
So, how do these games work? Well, from what I gather, they got all sorts of schools playin’. Big ones, small ones, all kinds. They got this “Class AAAA” thing, and I hear tell that’s the big-time schools. Then they got other classes, too. Lots of ’em. It’s enough to make your head spin, I tell ya.
They play games all the time, seems like. Even on Saturdays! Can you believe that? Saturday’s supposed to be for restin’ and catchin’ up on chores. But these kids, they’re out there playin’ basketball. I guess they got more energy than I do these days.
- One time, I heard tell of a game between Martinsburg and Jefferson. Sounded like a real barn burner, that one.
- And then there’s all them other schools…Parkersburg South, Spring Mills, Hurricane, Jefferson again… Too many to keep track of, if you ask me.
You know, it ain’t just about the winnin’, though. It’s about the kids learnin’ teamwork and sportsmanship. That’s what my pappy always used to say. “It ain’t whether you win or lose, it’s how you play the game.” He was a wise old fella, my pappy.
And let me tell ya, these kids, they play hard! They run up and down that court like their tails are on fire. And they jump! Lord, they can jump high. Makes me dizzy just watchin’ ’em sometimes. I ain’t sure how they do it. Must be all that youthful energy they got.
Now, if you wanna know the scores right this minute, I can’t help ya. Like I said, I ain’t glued to no phone. But if you look up them “MaxPreps” or “BVM Sports” places, you’ll find what you’re lookin’ for. They got all the latest and greatest, or so they say.
I remember back in my day, we didn’t have all this fancy technology. If you wanted to know the score, you had to go to the game yourself or wait for the newspaper the next day. And sometimes, the newspaper got it wrong! Can you imagine? But that’s just how it was. We made do.
And what about the players? Well, they’re just kids, really. Some of ’em are tall, some of ’em are short, some of ’em are fast, some of ’em are slow. But they all got one thing in common: they love to play basketball. And that’s what matters, ain’t it?
So, there you have it. That’s all I know about them WV high school basketball scores. It ain’t much, maybe, but it’s the truth as I know it. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go check on my biscuits. Don’t want them to burn, you know.
And one last thing, if you do go to one of them games, be sure to cheer loud! Those kids work hard, and they deserve a little encouragement. And maybe bring a blanket, ’cause those gyms can get mighty cold sometimes.
