Now, I ain’t gonna say they won every game, ’cause they didn’t. But they always gave it their all. And that’s what mattered. They played with pride, they played with passion. And they made us proud. The Little Cypress Mauriceville High School Bears, they were a team to be reckoned with.
The Little Cypress-Mauriceville football schedule back then was tough, I tell ya. They played some big schools, some tough teams. But them Bears, they never backed down. They went out there and fought, every single game. Win or lose, they held their heads high.
Even now, all these years later, people still talk about that ’96 team. They remember the players, the games, the excitement. It was a special time, a time that folks ’round here will never forget. Little Cypress Football was a big deal, still is.
