Alright, let’s talk about this CCCAA football, you know, the college games. I don’t know much about fancy stuff, but I can tell you what I see.
CCCAA Football: What’s the Big Deal?
So, this CCCAA, it’s like a bunch of colleges playin’ football. They got teams all over California, and them boys are tough, lemme tell ya. They run and hit, and sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. It’s like life, ain’t it? Ups and downs.
I heard tell they got this championship thing. CCCAA Football State Championship, they call it. Big game, I guess. Happens in December, and somebody wins. College of San Mateo won it last year, beat somebody real bad, 55 to somethin’. Heard they were real good.
This year, they got playoffs again. They call it the 2024 3C2A Football Championship. Just set ‘em up, so we’ll see who’s gonna be playin’ who. Gotta wait and see who comes out on top, I reckon.
- They got these rankings too. Riverside City was number one sometime, beat Golden West. Sounded like a big game. Folks was talkin’ ‘bout it.
- And you can watch the games, or at least some of ‘em. They got this thing called Youtube, my grandkids showed me. You can see the games on there, they say.
- Some places, you gotta pay to get in. And sometimes, they only take cash, no fancy credit cards. Gotta bring your dollars, y’know, the real money.
You can find the scores too. They got this ESPN thing, and other places on the internet. My grandkids, they look it up all the time. CCCAA football scores, they say. Keeps track of who’s winnin’ and losin’. I just wait ‘til they tell me, less headache that way.
Now, I heard some of these games are right here in our community college. California Community College Athletic Association, they call the whole thing. It’s good for the young folks, keeps ‘em outta trouble, maybe. Gives ‘em somethin’ to do, somethin’ to be proud of.
And they play hard, these boys. They practice all week, I hear. Runnin’ and liftin’ weights and doin’ all sorts of things to get ready. It’s a lot of work, but they seem to like it. Gives ‘em discipline, I guess.
Football, Football, Everywhere!
Seems like football is a big deal everywhere. You got the professionals, and the college, and now even these community college teams. It’s always on the TV, if you got one of them fancy TVs. Me? I just listen to the radio sometimes, when the game’s on.
They got this thing called a scoreboard, keeps track of who’s winnin’. CCCAA Football Scoreboard is what they call it for these college games, I think. Russ Hodges’ Scoreboard, too, somebody told me. Lots of names, hard to keep track.
And you can follow your favorite team, they say. Customize your colors and all that. I don’t know nothin’ about that, but the young folks, they love it. They got their phones and their computers, always lookin’ at somethin’.
So, that’s what I know about this CCCAA football. It’s about young folks playin’ a game, tryin’ their best. And it’s about folks watchin’ ‘em, cheerin’ ‘em on. And sometimes, it’s just about havin’ somethin’ to talk about with your neighbors. It ain’t the fancy NFL or nothin’, but it’s our football, right here in California.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make some dinner. Them young’uns get hungry after a long day, and so do I.
