Now, I ain’t know much ‘bout this basketball, but I hear they play a bunch of games. You can find their scores and when they playin’ next online, I reckon. They got a schedule, they do. It’s all on that there internet thingy, my grandkids showed me. Just type in “Wisconsin Stevens Point Pointers live score” or somethin’ like that, and it’ll pop up, just like magic! These young’uns these days, they know all sorts of tricks.

Anyways, they had a big day, them Pointers. Seems like all sorts of UW Stevens Point teams were playin’ that day. Six games, can you imagine? These kids got more energy than a squirrel in a nut house, I tell ya. Don’t know how they do it. Back in my day, we was workin’ on the farm, not runnin’ around chasin’ after a ball.
I also heard somethin’ about them playin’ against Madison and beatin’ them every time. 19 and 0, they say. That’s somethin’ to crow about, I reckon. Sounds like them Madison fellas need to practice a bit more, huh? Or maybe eat more spinach, that’s what my ma always told me when I was feelin’ weak.
You know, watchin’ them play, it’s kinda excitin’. All that runnin’ and jumpin’, and the ball goin’ swish through the net. It’s a fast-paced game, that’s for sure. Sometimes I lose track of the ball, it goes so fast! But then the crowd cheers, and I know somethin’ good happened, probably for the Pointers, I hope. I always root for the home team, even if I don’t rightly know all the rules.
And they even got them games on the computer now, you know, “streamin’ video” they call it. And you can just listen, too, like on the radio, only it’s on that there internet again. They had one of them games against St. Norbert College, the women’s team did, not the fellas. But it’s all part of that UW Stevens Point Athletics, I guess. They got all sorts of sports there, not just basketball. It’s a whole lot of hoopla, if you ask me.
So, yeah, that’s the lowdown on them UW Stevens Point men’s basketball team. They started strong, and they got a bunch more games to play. I’ll be keepin’ an eye on ’em, or rather, my grandkids will be keepin’ an eye on ’em for me on that computer thing. Go Pointers! That’s what you’re supposed to say, right? Seems like the right thing to do. Hope they keep on winnin’ and makin’ us proud. It’s good to see them young folks doin’ somethin’ positive, keeps ’em outta trouble, I reckon.
