Heard tell they been whoopin’ up on pretty much everyone they play. Folks call ‘em the Raiders, and they sure do raid that there end zone, scorin’ touchdowns left and right.
- Tough Games and Big Wins
I heard on the radio, these boys, they played a real barn burner of a game against them San Benito Greyhounds. Beat ‘em somethin’ fierce, like 42 to 22, they said. That’s what ya call a good ol’ fashioned whuppin’! Folks were callin’ it the “Game of the Week” or some such nonsense. All I know is, PSJA North, they came out on top, and that’s all that matters.
Seems like they playin’ some real tough teams this year, you know. Heard tell about a game against New Braunfels. Winner goes on to somethin’ called the “regional semifinal round.” Sounds mighty important! They gotta play the winner of Edinburg Vela and Smithson Valley, whoever they are. Lot of fancy names, if you ask me.
- Undefeated, That’s What I Heard!
And get this, they was sayin’ on the TV that the Raiders, they was undefeated for a while there! Eight and oh, they said. That means they ain’t lost a single game! Beat all them other teams like a drum. Heard they even played a team called the Hornets, and them Hornets, they was undefeated too! But the Raiders, they showed ‘em who’s boss. Now that’s what I call real good football!
The Schedule, It’s a Busy One!
These boys, they got a busy schedule, I tell ya. Always playin’ games, always runnin’ around. You can find their schedule online, they say. But me? I just wait for the news to tell me if they won or not. Too much fussin’ around with that internet stuff for this old gal. They say the schedule got all the dates and times and who they playin’. Sounds like a lot of work to keep track of, if you ask me.
Football, It’s a Big Deal!
Now, football, it’s a big deal ‘round here. Folks get all riled up about it. Cheerin’ and hollerin’, wearin’ them team colors. It’s somethin’ to see, I tell ya.
