Oh boy, talking about Cam Akers and his fantasy outlook, it ain’t no easy task, I tell ya. This young fella, he’s with the Minnesota Vikings now, but folks been real iffy about putting him in their fantasy lineups lately. He’s been up and down, like trying to keep your chickens from running all over the yard, you know what I mean?
Now, looking at Week 7, Akers is facing them Detroit Lions, and let me tell you, them Lions don’t mess around when it comes to stopping the run. They got the third-best run defense in the league right now, only giving up about 83 yards a game. So, if you’re thinking about starting Akers, you best think twice. The experts reckon he’s only gonna get you about 0.6 fantasy points this week, which ain’t exactly something to crow about.
How’s he been doing so far?
- Well, in Week 5, he had a decent game against the Bills, with 42 rushing yards and a touchdown, which got him 12.7 fantasy points. Not too shabby!
- But then he turned around in Week 6 and had himself a terrible time against the Patriots, with only -0.1 points. Yup, you read that right, negative points!
- So far this season, he’s sitting at 48th place in fantasy points among running backs, with an average of 5.3 points per game.
He’s got potential, don’t get me wrong. But with how the Vikings are using him, and with that tough matchup against the Lions, it ain’t looking like a big ol’ fantasy feast for him this week. Akers has only managed 94 rushing yards and one touchdown over the last three games, so unless something changes real quick, you might want to leave him on the bench for now. Sometimes it’s better to be safe than sorry.
Should you start Cam Akers?
If you ask me, unless you ain’t got no other running backs to turn to, I’d sit him this week. There are other folks who might give you a better chance of getting some good fantasy points. Just keep an eye on him, though, ’cause if he can get his legs going, he might be a good pick later on in the season.
So, there you have it! Be careful with Cam Akers, especially if you’re thinking about him for this week’s fantasy lineup. He’s a tricky one, like trying to catch a greased pig!
