Cal Mens Basketball Schedule Released: Key Games and Matchups
Alright, so you wanna know about this Cal men’s basketball schedule, huh? Well, lemme tell ya, it’s a whole bunch of games, and I’ll try to make sense of it for ya, the best I can. Don’t expect no fancy talk, I just tell it like it is.
First off, they got these games at home, you know, in their own place. They call it somethin’ fancy, somethin’ like “Haas Pavilion” or somethin’. Sounds like a rich fella’s house, if ya ask me. Anyway, they play a bunch of games there, against all sorts of teams. Some of ’em are easy pickin’s, like that Cal State Bakersfield team. They beat ’em good, 86 to 73, that’s what I heard. Then they played that Cal Poly team, beat them too.
Home Games are Important, ya know, ’cause the home crowd cheers ’em on, makes it harder for the other team to win. It’s like havin’ a whole bunch of extra players, only they ain’t playin’, they’re just yellin’.
But then they go on the road, travelin’ all over the place. That’s tougher, ’cause you ain’t got your own bed, and the food ain’t always so good. And them other teams, they got their own crazy fans too. They went and played Vanderbilt, and wouldn’t ya know it, they lost! 85 to 69, that ain’t good. Lost by a whole bunch, they did.
- Home Games: A bunch of ’em, at that Haas place.
- Away Games: Tougher, like when they lost to Vanderbilt.
- Conference Games: Big important games, they are.
Now, they got these things called “conference games.” That’s like playin’ against your neighbors, only it’s with basketball. These games are real important, ’cause they decide who’s the best in the whole group, or whatever they call it. They got somethin’ called the “Pac-12 Network” and ESPN, they show these games on TV. I don’t watch much TV myself, makes my eyes go all blurry, but some folks like it.
They got this schedule all planned out, from November all the way to…well, I don’t rightly know when it ends, but it’s a long time. They play a bunch of games in November, then some more in December, and it just keeps goin’. It’s like plantin’ season, it goes on and on.
They played a game against Chico State too. But that was just a practice game, they called it an “Exhibition”. They won that one, but it don’t really count, just gets ’em warmed up, I guess.
They play a whole bunch of these non-conference games too, before they get to them important conference ones. They played like seven at home and some tough games on the road. They even played Venderbilt, like I said, lost that one. Poor fellas.
And all these games, they’re on TV, or the radio, or somethin’. Folks can watch ‘em, or listen to ‘em, if they want to. Me? I got better things to do, like tendin’ to my chickens. But some folks, they really get into it, yellin’ at the TV like the players can hear ‘em. Crazy, if you ask me.
So, that’s the Cal men’s basketball schedule, as best as I can explain it. Lots of games, home and away, some easy, some hard. And it all leads up to…well, I don’t rightly know what it leads up to, but I reckon it’s somethin’ important, all these fellas runnin’ around and throwin’ that ball. It’s just a game to me, but to some folks, it’s serious business.
They’re called the “Golden Bears”, which sounds kinda fancy, but they’re just boys playin’ basketball, far as I can tell. Anyways, that’s the gist of it. Hope it made some sense to ya.
