Alright, let’s talk about them rugby clothes, you know, the stuff them fellas wear when they’re runnin’ around and smashin’ into each other. And there’s rules about it too, believe it or not. World Rugby, they got somethin’ to say about what you wear. Can’t just go out there in any old thing. You gotta have the right shirt, shorts, socks, and boots. They even say how long your sleeves gotta be. Halfway from the shoulder to the elbow, imagine that! Who comes up with this stuff, I tell ya.
Now, if you’re goin’ to watch a rugby game, you gotta dress nice-ish, they say. Smart casual, that’s the word they use. But you can wear a rugby shirt, that’s fine. Just don’t go wearin’ your pajamas or somethin’. People might stare. I always say, it’s better to be a little overdressed than underdressed. That’s what my mama used to say, bless her heart.
And it ain’t just for the fellas, you know. They got rugby clothes for the women and the kids too. Shirts, shorts, hoodies, even them little hats. And shoes! Boots, they call ‘em. They got all sorts of stuff. You could outfit your whole family if you wanted to. Not sure why you’d wanna do that, but you could.
Then there’s all them other things. Rugby balls, you need those, I guess. And all sorts of gear. I seen it in the stores, all lined up, lookin’ all fancy. They got fan gear too, so you can show your support for your favorite team. I ain’t got a favorite team, myself. I just like watchin’ ‘em run around, it’s kinda funny.

- Shorts: Gotta be comfy, I reckon.
- Socks: Keep your feet warm, I guess.
- Boots: Them shoes with the pokey things on the bottom.
- Hoodies: For when it’s cold, or just for lookin’ cool.
- Hats: To keep the sun outta your eyes, or just for fun.
And they got special places where you can buy all this stuff. Canterbury, they got a bunch of rugby stuff, I seen their name around. And there’s other places too. You can even get them shirts with your team’s name on it, or your own name, if you wanna be fancy. I wouldn’t put my name on no shirt, too showy for my likin’.
Some places, they even make special shirts just for you, custom they call it. For the teams and coaches and all. I don’t know nothin’ about coachin’ no rugby, but I guess they need special clothes too. Everybody gotta have their special clothes, it seems. Seems like a lot of fuss to me, but what do I know?
Then there’s them fancy clothes, like from that Burberry place. I seen them in the magazines, all them fancy models wearin’ them. They ain’t really rugby clothes, but they got some nice stuff. Coats and scarves and all that. Real high-falutin’ stuff. I wouldn’t wear it to a rugby game though, you’d get all muddy.
So, that’s about all I know ‘bout rugby clothes. Shirts and shorts and whatnot. They gotta be strong and comfy, and you gotta wear the right stuff if you’re playin’. And if you’re watchin’, you gotta dress nice-ish, but you can wear a rugby shirt if you want. It’s all a bit confusing to me, but that’s the gist of it. Just don’t go out there lookin’ like a fool, that’s the main thing.
