Brother rice basketball who are the top players check out this team
This here talk is all ’bout that Brother Rice basketball. My grandson, he’s always going on and on about it, so I hear a thing or two, you know? They play that game with the orange ball, bouncing it up and down. Brother Rice, they seem to be doin’ alright this year, playin’ that basketball game.
They got a bunch of young fellas, runnin’ back and forth. They say they play a lot of games. They won some and lose some, just like life. They won eight games in a row, eight! Can you believe it? That’s what I heard, anyway.
- Eight wins in a row, that’s a lot!
- They play with an orange ball.
- Lots of runnin’ up and down that floor.
This one fella, I heard ’em talkin’, name of Marcos Gonzales. He’s good, they say. Throws that ball in the hoop, real good, from what I gather. They say he scored a basket against some team… Oak Lawn, I think it was. I hear the team’s name is Crusaders. What a weird name.
They got this coach, too. Stamas, or somethin’ like that. Sounds important. He must be good if them boys are winnin’ so many games. Coach gotta tell them what to do, I reckon. He must be yellin’ a lot, tellin’ them to run faster, jump higher, you know how it is.
I heard they play at that Brother Rice High School. Big place, I guess. Lots of kids go there. They all seem to like that basketball. They got a court, I suppose, where they play. Probably shiny, all waxed up. My grandson, he watches them play sometimes. He says it’s excitin’.
They played some big game not too long ago, in February. I don’t remember all the details, but they was playin’ to go someplace important. “State,” I think they called it. Must be a big deal. Everybody was talkin’ about it.
- They played a big game to go to “State.”
- They play at Brother Rice High School.
- A coach named Stamas tells them what to do.
This Brother Rice basketball, it’s somethin’, I tell ya. All that runnin’ and jumpin’. Keeps them boys busy, I guess. Better than bein’ out on the streets, gettin’ into trouble. They even got different positions in this game. One of ’em is called a “center.” Sounds like he’s in the middle of all the action. Heard someone say he’s “the pivot.” What a strange word.
They play a lot, these Brother Rice basketball boys. Practice, practice, practice, I imagine. Gotta be good to win all them games. They been doing real good, these last few years, winnin’ thirty games or more each year. Thirty! That’s more than I can count on my fingers and toes!
They play other teams, too. Travel all over, I guess. Long bus rides, probably. Hope they got good snacks on that bus. When I was young, we didn’t have no fancy buses. We walked everywhere. Uphill both ways, in the snow, you know.
- They win thirty or more games each year.
- They travel on a bus to play other teams.
- They practice a lot to get good.
I don’t know all the rules of this Brother Rice basketball game. Seems complicated. But them boys seem to know what they’re doin’. They throw that ball around, try to get it in that hoop. Sometimes they miss, sometimes they make it. Just like life, I guess. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.
This one boy, Luke, I think his name was. He was a role player before, whatever that means. He’s tall, though. Six-foot-seven, they said. That’s taller than my doorframe! He must be good at gettin’ that ball in the hoop, bein’ so tall.
Anyway, this Brother Rice basketball, it’s a big deal around here. Everyone’s always talkin’ about it. The Crusaders, I mean. Keeps folks entertained, I suppose. And them boys, they seem to enjoy it. Runnin’ around, gettin’ all that exercise. Good for ’em, I say. Keeps ’em out of trouble. They had a good start, they did real good at the beginning this year.
They got a schedule, too. Says when they’re gonna play. Lots of games on that schedule. They play all the time, it seems. I don’t know how they keep up with it all. Must be tiring, all that runnin’. But they’re young, they can handle it. Young folks got all that energy. It’s good to see them doin’ somethin’ they like. It is good to know they’re having fun, playin’ that game, makin’ friends, learnin’ how to work together. That’s important, you know.
