Well, let me tell you about this Bentley football. You see, my grandson, he’s always going on about it. Says it’s a big deal, this football thing. I don’t know much about it, but he sure seems to like it.
Bentley Football Team
They got this team, see, the Bentley Falcons. Sounds kinda fierce, don’t it? Like them birds that swoop down and snatch up little field mice. My grandson, he showed me pictures. They wear these blue and white outfits. They run around a lot. Lots of hootin’ and hollerin’.
They got all these players, you know. Big fellas, mostly. Run fast, jump high. They got different jobs on the field. Some fellas, they throw the ball. Others, they catch it. And some, well, they just try to knock the other fellas over.

- They try to score.
- They run and throw the ball.
- It’s all very confusing to me.
But that’s Bentley football for ya. They got this coach, too. I saw his picture once. He looks like he knows what he’s doin’. Yells a lot, I bet. Gotta keep them boys in line, you know. Can’t have them runnin’ around willy-nilly.
Bentley Football Players
They got this list of players, a roster, they call it. Lots of names on there. Some of them boys come from far away. Some are from closer to home. My grandson knows all their names. He’s got their pictures, too.
They got this one fella, big as a house. They call him a lineman. He’s on the offense, I think. His job is to stop the other team from gettin’ to the fella with the ball. He’s pretty good at it, from what I hear.
And then there’s this other one. He’s fast, like a rabbit. Runs like the wind, they say. He catches the ball and runs for a touchdown. That’s what they call it when they get the ball to the other end of the field. Makes everyone cheer, that does. Bentley football got all the action, I suppose.

- All these different positions. It’s a lot to remember.
Bentley Football Schedule
They play these games, you know. Got a whole schedule of them. They play against other teams, from other colleges. Sometimes they win, sometimes they lose. But they always put up a good fight, that’s what my grandson says.
They travel around, too. Go to different towns, play in different stadiums. Big crowds come to watch. Lots of noise and excitement. I went to one game once. Too loud for me. But the young folks, they love it. They cheer and shout for that Bentley football team.
My grandson, he keeps track of all the games. Writes down the scores, who won, who lost. He knows all the stats, whatever those are. Says it’s important for knowing how good the team is.
Bentley University
This Bentley place, it’s a college, you know. A fancy one, too. Lots of smart kids go there. They learn all sorts of things. Not just football, though that seems to be a big part of it.
They got nice buildings, I hear. Big library, classrooms, all that. And they got this football field, of course. Where they play all their games. It’s a nice place, I suppose. For them that like that sort of thing.
My grandson, he wants to go there. To Bentley. Says he wants to study business. And maybe play football, too. He’s a good boy. Works hard. I hope he gets in. He tells me all about the Bentley football team. Thinks it would be swell to play for them.
Bentley Falcon Facts
They call ’em Falcons. Fast birds. I seen ’em flyin’ around here. They swoop down and grab their food right out of the sky. Guess that’s why they picked that name for the team. Gotta be fast to play football, I reckon.
They got a lot of history, this Bentley place. Been around for a long time. Lots of games played, lots of players come and gone. They got this Hall of Fame thing, too. For the best players, the ones who really made a mark. My grandson knows all about them.

- They got all these trophies.
- It’s a big deal, this Bentley football.
- Lots of folks follow it.
I don’t know all the details. It’s all a bit much for me. But I like to see my grandson happy. And this football, it makes him happy. So I listen to him talk about it. I try to understand. It’s his world, not mine. But I’m glad he’s got something he’s passionate about. And who knows, maybe one day I’ll even go to another game. Maybe. If it’s not too loud. But I doubt it. This Bentley football, it is a noisy spectacle. I’ll probably just stick to listening on the radio, if they even broadcast it like that. Well, that’s all I got to say about it.
