Alright, alright, let me tell ya somethin’ ’bout this fella, AJ Styles. Folks call it a “heel turn,” fancy words for goin’ bad, I reckon. Happened in 2023, so they say. Don’t ask me the exact date, my memory ain’t what it used to be. Too many birthdays, ya know?
So, this AJ Styles, he was always a good guy, fightin’ fair and square. A real goody-two-shoes, if you ask me. Always smilin’, shakin’ hands, you know the type. But somethin’ snapped in him, I guess. Maybe he got tired of bein’ nice, maybe somebody stepped on his toes, who knows? These wrestlers, they got their own ways of doin’ things.
- First thing I heard, he started hangin’ out with the wrong crowd. You know, those fellas with the sneers and the dirty tricks. Bad company, they say, and it’s true, it’ll rub off on ya like dirt on a white shirt.
- Then, he started cheatin’. Pinchin’, pokin’ eyes, pullin’ hair, all that stuff. I seen it happen, even with my old eyes. Wasn’t pretty, I tell ya. The crowd, they was booing him somethin’ fierce. Made my ears ring, it did.
- And the talkin’, oh my! He used to be so polite, now he’s just yellin’ and cussin’ and makin’ fun of folks. Says he’s better than everyone, says he’s the only one who matters. Sounded like my old rooster crowin’ in the mornin’, just a lot louder and meaner.
Now, they say this “heel turn” thing is good for business. More folks watchin’, more tickets sold, more money in their pockets, I guess. I don’t understand it myself. Why would anyone wanna watch a fella bein’ mean? But that’s the way the world is these days, ain’t it? Folks like a little drama, a little bit of a fight.
I remember seein’ AJ Styles wrestle a long time ago, before all this heel turn business. He was so quick and agile, like a cat on a hot tin roof. And he had this move, the Styles Clash they called it, that would knock a fella flat on his back. Still uses it, but now it’s got a mean streak to it, ya know? Like he’s tryin’ to hurt people on purpose.
Some folks say he’s just playin’ a part, pretendin’ to be bad. Maybe so. But he sure does look angry all the time. And those eyes, they’re cold as ice. Don’t know if I’d wanna meet him in a dark alley, that’s for sure. He’d probably give me a Styles Clash and then laugh about it.
But hey, it’s their world, them wrestlers. They got their own rules, their own way of doin’ things. I’m just an old woman, watchin’ from the sidelines. I’ve seen a lot of things in my life, and this “heel turn” thing, well, it’s just another one of those things that makes me scratch my head and wonder what the world’s comin’ to.
Anyway, whatever AJ Styles is doin’, it seems to be workin’ for him. He’s still talkin’ about and still on TV, so I guess that’s all that matters in the end. But I still miss the old AJ, the good guy. He was more fun to watch, if you ask me. But who am I, right? Just an old lady with an opinion.
So that’s the story, as best as I can tell ya. AJ Styles went bad, turned into a heel, whatever you wanna call it. Maybe he’ll turn good again someday, maybe he won’t. It’s all just a show, ya know, like them soap operas on the TV. But sometimes, it’s hard to tell the difference between what’s real and what’s not. And that’s the truth, as I see it.
