I think they call it “kerf” or something fancy like that. Anyway, I had some felt lying around, the kind you use for crafts and stuff. And guess what? It’s perfect for this kind of situation.

- I marked where I need to cut.
- I cut along the lines I marked.
- I applied felt to cover the kerf.
Felt saved the day
I stuck that felt on the inside edges of my box, and it made up for the wood I lost from sawing. Plus, it made the whole thing look kind of fancy. And if you’re putting drawers in your box, that felt will make them slide real smooth. Like butter, as they say. You can get that sticky-backed felt at pretty much any craft store.
And there you have it. That’s how I made my perfectly square box. It took some measuring, some cutting, and a little bit of felt magic, but I got it done. And let me tell you, it was satisfying to see it all come together. Now I have a square box, and it’s perfect for whatever I need it for. This is a good day!
