Speakers Box: Whats the Best Way to Choose One? Find Out How to Pick the Right Speakers Box!

Okay, so today’s little project was putting together a speaker box. It wasn’t anything fancy, just something to boost the sound from my phone a bit. I’ve been wanting to do this for a while, and I finally got around to it.

First, I gathered my materials. I found an old shoebox, which seemed like it would do the trick. I also grabbed some scissors, tape, and a couple of toilet paper rolls – yeah, I know, it sounds weird, but trust me on this. The toilet paper rolls are going to act as little amplifiers.

I started by cutting a hole in the lid of the shoebox, just big enough to fit my phone. Then, I cut two more holes on one side of the box, where I inserted the toilet paper rolls. I made sure they were snug and secured them with tape. I guess you can also use paper towel rolls, if that’s all you have, but you’ll need to cut it to a shorter length.

Next, I decorated the box a bit. I just wrapped it in some colorful paper I had lying around and added some stickers. You could use paint, markers, or whatever you like to make it your own. I saw other people using print-outs of famous quotes or photos of their favorite celebrity, but I didn’t want to do that.

Finally, it was time to test it out. I placed my phone in the slot on top of the box, fired up some music, and… it worked! The sound was definitely louder and clearer than just playing it from my phone’s speakers. The toilet paper rolls actually did a pretty good job of amplifying the sound. You can also use cups, as long as they fit the size of your box.

It was a really simple and fun project, and it only took me about an hour to complete. Here is a step-by-step of what I did:

  • Gathered materials: shoebox, scissors, tape, toilet paper rolls.
  • Cut a phone-sized hole in the box lid.
  • Cut two holes on the side and inserted/secured the toilet paper rolls.
  • Decorated the box.
  • Tested it out and it worked!

I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. It’s not going to replace a real sound system, but it’s perfect for when I’m just chilling in my room or doing some chores around the house. Plus, it was a fun way to upcycle some stuff I had lying around. If you’re looking for a quick and easy DIY project, I definitely recommend giving this one a try.
