Okay, here is my sharing about the golf club for Cobb school district experience:
So, I heard about this thing going on to help out the kids in Cobb County schools. It’s all about golf, which I think is pretty cool. They’re trying to make it easier for young people to get into the sport. I mean, paying only five bucks to play a whole 18 holes? That’s a steal!
I saw that they had this big golf tournament, the 13th annual one, back in March. It’s called the Cobb Schools Foundation Homecoming Golf Tournament. All the money they make from it goes to the local schools and teachers. Sounds like a good cause, right?
Then I found out they’re doing another one on September 20th at the Marietta Country Club. The idea is to play some golf and help the students. I thought, “Why not?” It’s a win-win. You get to have some fun and do some good at the same time.
They mentioned that all the money from this tournament will go to graduating seniors. I guess it’s for scholarships or something like that. Anyway, it got me thinking that I should do my part.
I also found out that Cobb County has these two golf courses, Cobblestone Golf Course and Legacy Links Golf Course. I guess they’re pretty good. I haven’t played there myself, but they say they’re some of the best in the area.
So, I decided to sign up for the tournament in September. I figured it’s a good way to support the kids and maybe get a little better at golf myself. I’m not exactly a pro, but I enjoy it. It was not easy to find where to sign up, and I spent almost half hour to find a phone number.
I called the school and talked to a very nice lady. She explained everything to me and helped me sign up the tournament.
- First, I filled out a form with my name and some other basic info.
- Then, I paid the entry fee, which was a little more than the $5 for the kids, but still not bad.
- Finally, I got a confirmation email with all the details about the tournament.
I am looking forward to the tournament in September. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun, and I’m glad I can help out the Cobb County students at the same time. I will practice a lot before then.
I hope I can make some new friends there. And maybe I can persuade them to join me next time. That is a very good deed.
