You know, that Coastal Carolina men’s basketball, them boys sure can run! I seen ’em on the TV, zippin’ up and down that shiny floor. Makes my old knees ache just watchin’ ’em. They play good, though, real good. They call ’em the Chanticleers. What in tarnation is a Chanticleer? Sounds like somethin’ you’d find in a fancy eatin’ place. But I reckon it’s a rooster. Makes sense, they are full of pep, just like them birds in my coop.
They got a whole bunch of games, this Coastal Carolina Chanticleers basketball team. Playin’ all over the place. November, they start. First against some team called Western. I reckon they beat ’em real good. And then they play East Carolina. I heard they lost that one, by a smidge. It happens, gotta lose some to win some, you know? Next up was NC State. That one was a loss too, but a bigger one. Like when my cow Bessie kicked over the milk pail.
They got this thing called a schedule, tells you when they play and who they play against. They got it all wrote down neat and tidy. I saw somethin’ online sayin’ it’s the 2024-25 Coastal Carolina Chanticleers schedule. Fancy, huh? These young folks and their computers! Back in my day, we just waited for the newspaper to tell us what was what.

These things change faster than the weather in springtime. One minute it’s sunny, next it’s pourin’ rain. You just never know. But that Coastal Carolina men’s basketball team, they keep on playin’ no matter what.
They go all over playin’ these games. Up and down the coast. Makes me tired just thinkin’ about it. My old bones ain’t what they used to be. But them boys, they’re young and strong. They can handle it. I reckon they enjoy it, travelin’ around like that. Seein’ new places. Back in my day, we didn’t go nowhere. Stayed right here on the farm. But times are different now, I suppose.

They got all these numbers, too. Scores and records and what not. They keep track of everything. Who won, who lost, how many points they scored. It’s all a bit much for me. I just like watchin’ ’em play. That’s enough for me. This old lady don’t need to know all them fancy numbers, but it is important for Coastal Carolina basketball results.
