Well, let me tell you, this cnr basketball, it’s somethin’ else. Kids these days, they got all kinds of things to do. But this basketball, it’s a big deal, I tell ya. They play it in the spring, I think start in April and all the way to May. Mostly on weekend, Sat and Sun, but sometime they got the Friday night, too.
My grandson, he’s in the second grade, he plays. They got all the grades playin’, from little ones like him all the way up to the big kids, even the varsity. I hear that it’s $75 for playin’ the ball. Seem like a lot, but they gonna be happy.
They got this thing, the CNR Basketball App. You can find it on your phone. Fancy, ain’t it? It helps folks find where the games are. My daughter, she uses it all the time. Says it’s real helpful for finding where to go. They even got places for the boy and girl to play. I think it’s good to let all of them play.
And they got these teams, lots of ’em. Breese Central, Columbia, Pinckneyville. Don’t know where them places are, but they sound important. My grandson, he just likes to play. He don’t care who he’s playin’ against. He’s number 4 on his team, he’s a good kid. They are all good kids, but they really need to work harder.
If you need to know the score, you can find it somewhere on your phone. Now, they even can text the score to you. Technology, I don’t even know how that works.
They call it the Jingle Jam somethin’. 2024 Jingle Jam, I think. Sounds like a party. They got rules, too. Lots of rules. Gotta follow the rules, or you’re in trouble. They put the rules on a paper. But I don’t know where to find it, you can ask the young people, they know better.
They even got a list of all the teams. You can find out what “bracket” your team is in. Don’t rightly know what a bracket is, but it sounds important. It’s like a big list, I reckon. They got many teams to play against, it’s good for the kids.
This cnr basketball, it’s a big to-do. Lots of folks watchin’, lots of folks playin’. Keeps the kids busy, keeps ’em outta trouble. That’s what I always say. Better than sittin’ around doin’ nothin’.
They had somethin’ happen last Friday, May 24th. Don’t know what it was, but it was somethin’. They always got somethin’ goin’ on with this basketball. They need to pay more attention on the game, I think. Just play the ball and be happy, that’s what I always say.
If you want to know when your team is playin’, they got this thing called a “schedule”. You can find it online on your phone, I think. You gotta pick your team from a list, and then it tells you when they play. It’s all very complicated, if you ask me. My grandson’s mom know how to find it, she’s good at it. And she will drive him to the court on time.

That’s some of the teams, they said it’s for the IHSA CLASS 2A, I don’t know what it is. I just know my grandson loves to play and that’s all.
They also got somethin’ they call “Team Capsules”. Sounds like medicine. But it ain’t. It’s got somethin’ to do with learnin’ more about the teams. Don’t know why you need to know all that, but the young folks seem to like it. I just like to watch my grandson run around and be happy, that’s good enough for me. These kids are just happy to be there, no need to know everything.
This CNR Basketball, it’s a good thing, I reckon. Keeps the kids active, teaches ’em about teamwork. And it’s fun to watch. Even if I don’t understand all the fancy stuff. As long as they’re havin’ fun, that’s all that matters. The score doesn’t really matter to them, they are just happy to play.
They said somethin’ about Sunday, I think it’s important. I don’t know what it is, maybe they have a big game that day. You better check the schedule if you want to see the game. I think my grandson is playing this Sunday, too. I should probably go watch him. Hope he can win the game this time.
They got supervisors for the game, too. They need to make sure no one cheats. You know kids these days, sometime they don’t listen. But the supervisor will make sure they follow the rule. I think that’s a good idea, make the game fair for everyone.
So, yeah, this cnr basketball, it’s somethin’. You should check it out sometime. It’s a good time. Just remember to check the schedule, and maybe download that app thingy. Or just ask someone younger, they’ll know what to do. And don’t forget to be there on time, the kids will be mad if you are late.
