The Players and Their Successes
Heard tell they got some good players too. This one fella, Nathan Turtledove, they say he’s a real champ. Even won somethin’ at the U.S. Open, I think. Good for him, I say. Shows them young’uns what hard work can do. And it ain’t just one or two players, seems like they got a whole bunch of ‘em doin’ well. Makes ya wonder what they’re feedin’ them over there at St. Lawrence.
The University and Its Support
Now, St. Lawrence, that’s a fancy school, from what I hear. Up there in the rankings, they say. And they give out money to help kids go there, specially if you’re a smarty-pants from one of them UWC schools. But don’t expect ’em to pay for your bus ticket, though! You gotta get yourself there. They got all sorts of sports teams, not just tennis. Thirty-five of ‘em, can ya believe it? Must be a lot of runnin’ and jumpin’ and yellin’ goin’ on over there.
So, How Good Is the Tennis?
So, back to the question, how good is the tennis? Well, sounds to me like it’s pretty darn good. They got good coaches, dedicated players, and a school that seems to care about its athletes. They winnin’ games, they got champs, and folks are talkin’ about ’em. That’s gotta count for somethin’, right? It ain’t just about hittin’ a ball over a net, see? It’s about hard work, teamwork, and havin’ the support ya need. And it sounds like St. Lawrence got all that and then some.
Now, I ain’t no expert on tennis, mind you. I’m just a plain ol’ person tellin’ ya what I hear and what I see. But from where I’m sittin’, St. Lawrence University tennis seems to be doin’ just fine. They got a good thing goin’ over there, and I reckon they’ll keep on doin’ good things for a long time to come. If you got a young’un who’s good at hittin’ that fuzzy ball, maybe you should look into sendin’ ’em over there. Who knows, maybe they’ll be the next Nathan Turtledove.
And that’s all I gotta say about that. It ain’t rocket science, it’s tennis, and they seem to be pretty good at it over at St. Lawrence.
