Alright, let’s talk about this Lock Haven football, you know, the Bald Eagles. I heard some folks yappin’ about it, so I figured I’d try and make sense of it all for ya.
First off, they got a bunch of coaches. Head Coach Dan Mulrooney, he’s the big cheese, looks after them linebackers, whatever them are. Then there’s a whole mess of other fellas – Joe Battaglia, he messes with the offense; Michael Derasmo, he’s on defense; and Nick Voorhees, he’s in charge of them special teams and the fellas who catch the ball far down the field, the wide… somethin’ or others.
Now, they got a whole heap of players too. Big fellas, small fellas, all runnin’ around and smashin’ into each other. You got your linebackers, they’re the tough ones in the middle, always hittin’ hard. Then you got your wide receivers, them’s the fast ones who catch the ball. And don’t forget the fellas who run the ball, the runnin’ backs. Coach Matt Sullivan, he looks after them.
Seems like they got all sorts of games, you know, the NCAAF and all that. They play other colleges, I reckon. And they got somethin’ called a roster, which is just a big list of all the players and what they do. They got one for 2021, one for 2022, probably one for this year too, 2023, but I ain’t seen it yet.
I seen some pictures too. Them boys in their uniforms, all lookin’ serious. And they got this eagle thing, Bald Eagle they call it. Guess that’s their mascot or somethin’. They got a Twitter too, I hear. All these young folks and their fancy contraptions.
- Coaches: You got Mulrooney, Battaglia, Derasmo, Voorhees, Sullivan, and some others. A whole bunch of ‘em.
- Players: Linebackers, wide receivers, running backs, all sorts. Too many to name, that’s for sure.
- Games: They play in somethin’ called the NCAAF. Big college games, I guess.
- Rosters: Big lists of who’s playin’. They got ‘em for different years.
Now, this Lock Haven team, they’re from Lock Haven University in Pennsylvania. They play American football, you know, not that soccer stuff them fellas kick around with their feet. This is the real deal, where they smash into each other and try to get that ball across the line.
So, that’s the gist of it, as far as I can tell. A bunch of coaches, a bunch of players, they play some games, and they got a bird for a mascot. Sounds like a lot of fuss, but I guess folks like it. Me? I prefer a good sit-down and a cup of coffee, but to each their own, I always say.
I tell ya, this football thing, it’s a whole different world. All this talk of linebackers and special teams, it makes my head spin. But those boys, they seem to love it, runnin’ around and knockin’ each other down. And the folks in the stands, they love it too, cheerin’ and yellin’ fit to beat the band.
It’s more than just a game, I reckon. It’s a whole community thing. Folks comin’ together, supportin’ their team. And them boys on the field, they’re learnin’ about teamwork and discipline, and all that good stuff. Even if I don’t understand all the rules and the fancy plays, I can see the value in that.
So, there ya have it. My take on this Lock Haven football. Not bad for an old gal like me, huh? Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go make myself some supper. All this talkin’ about football made me hungry.
Lock Haven Football: It’s about the coaches, the players, the games, and the community. And it’s about a bunch of young fellas playin’ their hearts out for that Bald Eagle.
One more thing, they got a website and all, you can find all sorts of information there, if you’re into that kind of thing. I ain’t gonna tell you the address, cause I don’t know how to do all that fancy computer stuff, but I hear it’s easy to find. Just search for Lock Haven Bald Eagles or somethin’ like that. And they even got social media, like I said before, Twitter and such, where you can see pictures and videos of the team and stuff. They really into that newfangled technology these days.
But anyway, that’s all I got to say about Lock Haven football. It’s a big thing, and it seems like a lot of folks care about it. So, good luck to them Bald Eagles, I say. Hope they win all their games and make their mamas proud. And that’s about all she wrote, folks. Now go on, get outta here, and let me get back to my business.
