Well now, let me tell ya somethin’ about tennis clubs in Carson City. I ain’t no fancy player myself, but I hear things, ya know? Folks talk.
So, you’re lookin’ for a place to swing that racket, huh? Carson City, that’s a right nice place, got a bit of everything. Now, when it comes to tennis, seems like there’s a good few spots around. Heard tell of some places called Northstar Tennis and Incline Village Tennis & Pickleball Center. Them names sound right fancy, don’t they? Pickleball too, what in the tarnation is that? Sounds like somethin’ you’d eat outta a jar.
Places to Play
Folks keep jabberin’ about Ross Gold Park and Zephyr Cove Park. John Mankins Park too, I reckon. Seems like these are public places, the kind you can just go to, no fuss. Then there’s Mills Park and JohnD Winters Centennial Park. That Centennial fella, he must’ve been important, they named a whole park after him and a road too, Centennial Park Drive, last I checked. Heard it’s near Heritage Way. You can find all sorts, from tennis courts to who knows what else.

Now, if you’re lookin’ for somethin’ a bit more…exclusive, like them highfalutin city folk enjoy, there’s somethin’ called the Carson Tennis Club. Located right there on Centennial Park Drive, no less. Fancy address, ain’t it? I heard tell it costs a pretty penny to join up, though. Someone was squawkin’ about twenty-five thousand dollars just to get in the door! Can you believe that? And that ain’t the end of it, oh no. You gotta pay more every month, and they gotta decide if they even like you enough to let you in! Takes months, they say. Board gotta approve and all that. Land sakes, it’s like joinin’ a secret society or somethin’.
Fancy Clubs and Such
Heard some stories about other tennis clubs, way out in other places, not here in Carson City mind you. Places with grass courts, like them old-timey movies. One place, Seabright Lawn Tennis and Cricket Club, been around since forever, they say. Even got a cricket pitch! What do ya make of that? Another one over in England, called The Archery. Archery and tennis, now that’s a combination, ain’t it? But them places are far off, not for the likes of us around here, I reckon.
Findin’ a Court
So, how do you find a court? Well, you can look online, I suppose. Them youngsters are always tappin’ away at their phones. Or you could just ask around. Go down to the park, see who’s hittin’ the ball. Folks are usually friendly enough, might even let ya join in for a game or two. That is, if you ain’t playin’ at that fancy club, where they probably got guards and gates and whatnot.
If you want to contact the Carson Tennis Club directly, you gotta dial up 775-772-5880. That’s what I heard, at least. But good luck gettin’ in there without a fat wallet, I tell ya. Me? I’ll stick to watchin’ from the sidelines. Less hassle, and it don’t cost a dime.
Anyways, that’s all I know about tennis clubs in Carson City. It ain’t much, but it’s honest. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I gotta go tend to my garden. Them tomatoes ain’t gonna water themselves, ya know.
